In everyday life, there is a lot to worry about, but we often overdo it. It seems very easy to worry about every little problem and to place too much attention on all the minor distractions that really do not matter.
We are wasting precious time sweating the small stuff. We would be much better off if we could just stop worrying so much and allow ourselves to march away from our worries for a while.
In order to make this happen, we need to pick a day when we intentionally put all of our concerns aside and enjoy just being alive.
Sunday, March 4, 2012, is a great day for each of us to step out and get away from our worries. After all, it’s Exalano Day!
Exalano Day was created many years ago as a unique holiday where we are all called upon to march forth from our daily routine and do something new and different. The annual call to celebrate Exalano Day has been issued in each of the last thirty-six years by the Exalano Day Committee (the EDC), a very, very small group of people on a mission to annually remind everyone that life is too wonderful to waste. The EDC thinks that worrying is a waste of time and that we should all make the effort to march forth from our concerns. The word 'Exalano' comes from the Greek word meaning 'to march forth', and hence it is a natural idea to declare that the fourth day of March should be called Exalano Day. On this most unique holiday, the Exalano Day Committee declares that everyone, everywhere, should march forth from our daily concerns and do something fun, something new, and something exciting, just for the heck of it.
On Sunday, March 4, 2012, all of us should celebrate Exalano Day by putting our worries aside and marching forth to enjoy ourselves. How you celebrate Exalano Day is up to you – just don’t worry about it!
